The Alexander McNutt Paxton 1838 Family Bible Records include the dates of many of his siblings. His wife Mary L E was included. I've seen several differing lists and dates of their children.

On the 1850 Dist. 51, Rockbridge Co., VA census, I found farmer Elisha Paxton, 66, with $20K in real estate; Margaret Paxton, 57 and farmer John G Paxton, 18, all VA born. (John Gallatin Paxton, 9 Nov 1832 - 15 Sep 1859 in MS)

Daughter Rachel Eleanor married John Wm E Buckner on 13 Oct 1846, in Rockbridge Co., VA. He was born in Lexington, VA in 1819, and died 25 Dec 1857. They had Colin/Calen, Wm E., Martha and Elisha P. The Rockbridge County Death Register says R E Buckner, the daughter of Elisha and M Paxton, aged 40, born and died in Rockbridge Co., in July 1865, of Typhoid Fever. It was reported by father Elisha.

The Rockbridge Co., VA Death Register says Margaret Paxton, the wife of Elisha, died 3 Sep 1856 of "Chronic," aged 64, the daughter of Alex McNutt and Rachel Grigsby. It was reported by her husband.
