Louie D. Chesnut, 66, 1716 Riley Road, died early this morning at Ball Hospital following an extended illness. He was born in Lyons, Green County, and attended school there. He came to Muncie in 1929.

Mr. Chesnut was employed at Warner Gear Division 32 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of First Baptist Church and the Come and See Sunday School Class. He was also a member of Warner Gear Sympathy Club.

Surviving are his wife, Juanita; two daughters, Mrs. William R. (Janet) Wilson and Mrs. Carl (Nancy) LaWall, both of Muncie; a son, John D. Chesnut, Eaton; three sisters, Miss Imo Chesnut and Mrs. Buton White, both of Scottsburg, and Mrs. Rolland Whipple, Frankfort; a brother, Julian Chesnut, Lyons; and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at the Meeks Mortuary 10 a.m. Thursday with Dr. Franz Edward Oerth, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Mausoleum. Friends may call at the mortuary from 3 until 5 and from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, and any time before the services Thursday.
