Bertha Alene Cornwall Ellis
Bertha Alene Cornwall Ellis, 69, of Eden, passed away on Monday, Feb. 7, 2000, at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center.
Bertha was born in Pocatello, Idaho, on Dec. 1, 1930, to John L. and Elva Cornwall. She moved to Kimberly with her family, and attended school there. Bertha married Dave Ellis on June 29, 1951. They lived and worked on the family farm in the Greenwood Community, east of Hazelton, Idaho. Bertha and Dave raised their family on the farm until 1971, when they retired and moved to Eden, Idaho. Her husband, Dave, passed away in November of 1982. Bertha continued to live in Eden until 1995 when, due to failing health, she moved to Mt. View Convalescent Center in Kimberly. She transferred to Bridgeview Care Center in Twin Falls, and resided there the last year of her life.
Bertha is survived by her children, Dave (Marcille) Ellis of Rupert, Barbara Ellis of Burley, and John (Alice) Ellis of Eden; grandchildren, Margaret Ellis Heninger, Chris, Roger and Brian Ellis, James Thurber, Shaunda Walker, Robert Thurber, and Jackie and Kaylee Ellis; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters and three brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, and two sisters.
Funeral services for Bertha A. Ellis will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2000, at the Hazelton LDS Chapel, with Bp. Roy Wyatt conducting. Interment will follow in Hazelton Cemetery. Friends may call at White Mortuary on Thursday from 4-8 p.m., and at the church on Friday from noon to 12:45 p.m.
