Pauline F. Hess, 86, of Saxton, died April 20, 1995, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. She was born Jan. 14, 1909, in Elleralie, Md., a daughter of the late Oscar and Eunice (Lee) Wenrick. On May 13, 1929, she married Thomas L. Hess in Cumberland, Md. He died Sept. 23, 1970. Surviving are four children, Alice Mae (wife of Thomas Heffner) of Yardley, Fred Hess and Earl Hess, both of Saxton; and State Rep. Dick Hess of Bedford; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grand- children; and a sister, Gladys Bowers of Louisville, Ky. She was preceded in death by an infant son, a brother and two sisters. A former employee of Scampers Mfg. Co., she retired from the Tussey Mountain School District where she was employed as a cafeteria worker.
