Olympic Games Gold Medal Athlete. A graduate of Southern University, he won two Olympic medals in the 110-meter hurdles: a gold in 1968 and a bronze at the 1976 games in Montreal, Canada. In all, he competed in five Olympics (1964, 1968, 1972, 1976, and 1980 (as a member of the United States bobsled team). At the time of his death, he was a Colonel in the National Guard. (bio by: Joel Manuel)
