Born Harriet Edith Bailey on May 14, 1889, at Oakville, Iowa to John Charles and Anzaletta L. "Letty" Racer Bailey. Married Milo Baxter Feb. 28, 1912, at Oakville. He died March 1970. Member of the Presbyterian Church and member Midvale Golden Age Club.

Survivors included her daughter, Mrs. H. Willis (Leah) Higgs, Greenwich, Conn., two grandchildren; and sisters, Mrs. Paul Wicall, Bloomington, Ill., Mrs. Daniel Stewart, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Mrs. William Sheridan, Moline, Ill., and Mrs. Ralph Meador, Burlington, Iowa.

Hattie was preceded by her parents; her husband, Milo; an infant brother and sister; brothers Bruce, Marion, Harvey, and twin brother Harry Lee; and sisters Lottie, Lillie, and Nellie.
