He was born at Waioli, Kauai, January 7, 1839. He was educated at Oahu College and afterwards for a number of years follwed the profession of a sugar boiler, both in Louisiana and in the Hawaiian islands.
Later on he removed to Redding, Shasta county, California where he conducted a fruit farm for many years.
In 1906 he returned ot the islands and was engaged in the cultivation of a pineapple farm until a short time beofre his death.
he leaves behind a most devoted wife, two daughters:
Mrs. Mary E. Madden of Pa'auilo, Hawaii
Mrs. Charlotte E. McQuiad of Haiku, Hawaii.
Two of his brothers are still living:
Professor W. d. Alexander
Reverend J. M. Alexander of Oakland, California.
He has left four sisters:
Mrs. C. H. Dickey
Mrs. H. P. Bladwin
Miss Mary J. Alexander of Oakland, California
Mrs. Charlotte Ferreri of Rome Italy.
Tow of his brothers have died before him:
S. T. Alexander
Charles H. Alexander.
He died suddenly of heart failure at his home in Haiku, and the funeral services were held there.
