The Following account written by Herbert Rose February 24, 1980 called "Some Notes About the Rose Family Tree". Sent to family for general interest.
July 17, 1913 Lucille Henderson and Herbert Rose were married at a minister's home in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Herbert was working as a construction engineer on the power plant at Albuquerque, New Mexico where the young couple lived in a rented room. They took their meals at a nearby boarding house. They were very happy. Lucille fit vvery quickly into the group whom Herbert had previously met at work and at the boarding-house.
Year 1954 Herbert Rose, after 12 years in the Aircraft industry at Douglas and Northrop, retired as a research engineer. Shortly therafter, Herbert and Lucille moved from Hollywood to Pacific Palisades. From that base they enjoyed many excursions and short trips until Herbert gave up driving a car in 1969. After that, they depended upon family, friends and buses for transportation.
Years 1957 - 1980 Serious health problems seemed to dominate this period.
Year 1980 Herbert Rose, the 91 year old ailing patriarch of the family lives alone with beautiful memories of his life with Lucille. As he looks around his pretty home in Pacific Palisades he thinks of the many interesting, varied occupational steps that brought him here, construction of produce plant and power plant buildings, World War 1 chemical and blast furnace plant construction and management, Radio department management, Research engineer in aircraft and other. There were some rough times on the way with Lucille always there to pitch in and help. He wonders just when and how he will sign off? End Herbert died 1983.

Herbert was the son of Sigmund Rose b 1863 Austria Hungary and Julia Kistner b 1869 Waterloo, Iowa. From our research he Herbert had one brother Fred Rose born about 1886 in Iowa. No further on burial to date 11/16/2015.
Sigmund Rose died 1922 in New York and Julia died 1895 in Chicago Ill. After Julia died, Sigmund married Emma Darby in 1905. No further on this marriage, but they can be found 1910 living in New York.
