Mrs. Ruth Komer, 82, of 5049 Irma Ave. died of emphysema Monday morning at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center.
Mrs. Komer was born Aug. 5, 1905, in Newell, Pa., a daughter of Samuel and Mary Furlong Marchand, and came to Youngstown in 1954. She was a member of the church and a charter member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She leaves her husband, John E., whom she married Feb. 27, 1928; three sons, John E., Jr., of Rootstown, Pa., Robert S. of Borden, Ind., and Ronald M. of Pittsburgh; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Kavanagh of Liberty; three brothers, Lucius Marchand of Youngstown, and Lewis Marchand and Clyde Marchand, both of Newell; a sister, Mrs. Jane Evans of Newell; and 15 grandchildren.
A brother, Samuel, is deceased.
