Lucretia Agee Ellison was one of 12 children born to John and Mary Elizabeth Thornton Agee. The family came from Missouri, to Yamhill Co, Oregon, then Douglas County, settling in Wilbur. The Thorntons and the Agee families have well documented genealogy and were early pioneers in Oregon. Her siblings were: Leetia (died young), Otto, Theodocia, John, Zopher, Emma, Owen, Ray, Roy, Kathryn and Bertha.

She married John D. Ellison Oct. 6, 1887 in Wilbur, Douglas County, OR. They had five children: Frank, Elmer, Melvin, Lota (Campbell), and Alfred John.
