My maternal grandmother she was born Saphronia Jane Porter daughter of Everett Kate Reed Tedder and William Thomas Porter. she married Albert Clay in 1928 when she was 13 and she was 15 when she had her first child daughter Alberta, she and Albert split up and divorced in the mid 1950's she had been sick with the flu and she died in her home in Blytheville,Ar from pneumonia at age 54, she had 5 daughters Alberta Diesing of Far Rockaway,N.Y. Bethel Stroder of Oak Grove,La Donna Johnson of Marion,Ar. Virginia Brown of Vicksburg,Ms. and Gloria Collum of Oak Grove,La 5 sons Harold Clay, Roy Clay, Carl Clay of Valley Park,Ms. Cletus Clay of Pioneer ,La and Virgil Clay of Ms.Saphronia Jane Porter Clay, died Jan 16, 1969 and was buried in Garden Point.

She was born the only child Oct 23, 1914 to Tom and Everett Kate Reed Porter in the Hatcher community.

She leaves her x-husband Albert Clay of LA, daughters: Alberta Laverne Diesing, Bethel Clay Stroder, Harold Clay, Roy Clay, Carl, Clay, Donna Johnson, Virginia Collins, Cletus Clay, Virgil Clay, and Gloria Clay.
