Helen M. Tlachac, 91, formerly of Forestville, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Century Ridge Assisted Living Facility, where she lived since 2003. She was born Oct. 24, 1917, in the Town of Lincoln, WI, to the late Theodore and Anna (Srnka) Holsbach. Helen was a graduate of Algoma High School. She married Vojta Tlachac on June 17, 1936, and went on to raise eight children and assist her husband in running the Tlachac family farm in the Town of Brussels until 1971 when they moved into the village of Forestville. Helen was a lifelong member of St. Hubert's Catholic Church, Rosiere, was active in St. Hubert's Altar Society, the County Line Homemaker's Club, and a member of the Algoma Hospital Auxiliary. She was employed as a cook at the Alpine Convalescent Center of Dyckesville and the Algoma Hospital and Convalescent Center from 1968 until her retirement at age 79. Helen will be best remembered for her hard work and selfless energy offered for the love and support of her 8 children, 20 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren who now survive her. Her children include Sylvia (Richard) Corbeill of Green Bay; Claire (Lawrence) Peters of Bellevue; Martin Tlachac of Forestville; Barbara Settles of Puerto Rico; Cynthia (Jack) Nisbet of Tucson, AZ; Gregory (Stephanie) Tlachac of Salt Lake City, UT; Randall (Carol) Tlachac of Plymouth, MN; and Kristine (Greg) Nebel of Merton, WI. Surviving grandchildren include: Mary (Joe) Peterson; Christopher (Wendy) Peters, Scott (Beth) Peters, Kelly (Kelli Jo) Peters, Todd (Sandra) Peters, Marty (Barbi) Peters, and Jay (Lisa) Peters; Matthew (Heidi) Tlachac and Angela Tlachac; Moneeka (Sean) McEnroe; Joshua (Andrea) Nisbet, Benjamin (Ashley) Nisbet, and Claire (Doug) Shanton; Jill (Rob) Myrick and Jonathan (Jodee) Tlachac; Stephen Tlachac and Erin Tlachac; and Michael (Ashley) Nebel, Rigel Nebel, and David Nebel. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Mrs. Theodore (Minerva) Holsbach of Algoma. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Vojta in 1987; all her brothers, sisters, and the following spouses: John & Irene (Derenne) Holsbach, Frances (Holsbach) & Harris Charles; Bernice (Holsbach) & Maurice Paul, and Theodore Holsbach Jr. Other loved ones who preceded her in death include: daughter-in-law Mrs. Martin (Kathleen) Tlachac, two grandchildren, Gregory and Stephanie Corbeill and one great-grandchild, Faith Peters; as well as brothers and sisters-in-law: John & Ella (Andre) Tlachac, Marie (Tlachac) & Joseph Seiler, Anna (Tlachac) Phillips, Helen (Tlachac) & Fred Frank, Julia (Tlachac) & Alex Dier, George & Rose (Jeanquart) Tlachac, and Josephine (Tlachac) & Elvin Juza. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Proko-Wall Funeral Home and after 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 3425 Willow Rd., Bellevue. Parish Wake Service 7:30 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m with the Rev. Ron Belitz officiating.
