Frank Leigh Randall Sr., 89, of Hamilton, Ohio, died October 4, 2010, at Westover Health Care. He was born in Fall Creek, Kansas, August 10, 1921, the son of Frank Leigh Randall and Blanche Ehler Randall, both of whom preceded him in death.

A veteran of the Pacific Theater in World War II, Frank served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1942 to 1946 and in the reserves for two years. He was a trained Military Police Officer and a graduate of the Honolulu Police Academy in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He attended grade school and graduated high school in Newport, Kentucky, and attended the former Ohio Mechanics Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. He retired after 25 years as a service engineer with Reliance Electric in Columbus.

He and his wife retired and moved to Safety Harbor, Florida, where they enjoyed 22 years of retirement and extensive traveling before returning to Shirley's hometown of Hamilton. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Hamilton and was a member of Nova Caesarea Harmony Lodge No. 2 in Cincinnati for over 63 years.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Shirley L. Skjoldager Randall; two sons, Kenneth E. Randall (Susan) of Milford, Ohio, and Frank L. Randall Jr. (Lea Ann) of Columbus; a daughter, Cheryl Lee Herrera (Henry) of Santa Ana, California; three grandchildren, Jason, Noah and Tessa Randall; and a brother, Captain James P. Randall (Judith) of Solomons, Maryland.

He was very fond of his doctors, Dr. Jennifer Winters and Dr. Mussa, for their loving care.

A private family memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Westover Foundation, 855 Stahlheber Road, Hamilton, OH 45013.

On the day he was born, the world rejoiced and he cried. On the day he died, the world cried and he rejoiced.
