Lawrence was the son of Joseph L. GRACZYKOWSKI (1870-1946) and Anna KLUCZYKOWSKI (1880-1952).

He and his siblings Rose (1903), Harry (1905), Thomas (1909), and Wesley (1910) were the first white children born on the Lac du Flambeau Indian Reservation.

He was married to Esther Anna SZALEWSKI (1910-1989) on November 29th, 1933 at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church in Alban, WI.

Their children together were:

Stanley Anthony Graykowski (1928-1985)
Joseph L. Graykowski (1935-1992)
