Jacob F. Stevens was born in Plaistow, NH, and resided in Plaistow when at age 22 he enlisted as a private on Nov. 22, 1861, in CO. B., 7TH REGIMENT NEW HAMPSHIRE VOLUNTEER INFANTRY. He was mustered in Nov. 22, 1861. He was wounded May 14, 1864, at Drewry's Bluff, Virginia. He was mustered out Dec. 27, 1864.
