Death of Mrs. P. T. Barnum

A large circle of personal friends will hear with sincere regret of the death by paralysis of Mrs. Charity Barnum, the wife of Mr. P. T. Barnum. The sad event occurred yesterday at the family residence, 438 Fifth avenue, and the funeral will take place at Bridgeport, on Saturday at 1 o'clock.

Mrs. Barnum was well known in this city and in Bridgeport for her unassuming charities and for the domestic virtues which adorn the character of wife and mother. She directed the hospitalities of her elegant home with true grace and courtesy. Mr. Barnum is we believe, in Europe, and his two married daughters comprise his immediate family.
