Richard was born the son of Robert & Ethel McConnell. He farmed around Avoca and Fulda, MN. He also was in the Army. On May 24, 1947 he married June Tyrrell at Methodist Manse. They started their family of 5 children and later moved to Oklahoma where Dick did construction work on roads.
Dick & June were the parents of Lyle, Michael, Linda, & Dale.
Memorial service was held from Disciple United Methodist Church, Rev. P.J. Steward officiating
