US Congressman. He served as a member of the Whig Party in the United States House of Representative representing the State of Vermont from March 4, 1847 to March 3, 1851. He was not nominated for re-election. He was an American manufacturer and banker. He was a Member of Vermont State House of Representatives in 1834 and a member of Vermont State Senate in 1836. He did not attend college. In 1816 he married Fanny Goodhue, who died seven years later, childless.
