An attack of heart disease proves fatal.
A. G. McShane died suddenly at the Remington mining claims near Columbia Monday morning. A short while before he had arisen and was engaged in building a fire in the kitchen stove when he suffered an attack of heart disease. His falling to the floor attracted the attention of his wife and son, the only other members of the family. Aid was promptly summonded, but the man could not be revived and his death followed within an hour.
The deceased was a miner by occupation, and he formerly resided in South Dakota. He came to this county about three months ago, making his home at the Remington claims. He was a native of Iowa and 63 years old. His funeral was conducted in Columbia Wednesday afternoon, interment being in the Masonic cemetery of that place.

News was received at Lead of the death of A. G. McShane at Columbia, Cal. Deceased was one of the pioneers of the Black Hills, coming to that country in 1876. He lived for a number of years at Lead, then moving to Deadwood and later to Rapid City. He was interested in a number of mining propositions in the vicinity of Lead and was well known and liked by everyone in the Black Hills.
