US Congressman. He graduated from Coleman’s Business College, in 1887 and engaged in the manufacture of boilers and smokestacks. He was a member of the Dover Common Council New Jersey, for several years, Dover City Recorder, (1904-09) and a member of the New Jersey State House of Assembly, (1910-12). In 1918, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-fifth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of John H. Capstick, serving until 1919. After leaving Congress, he resumed his former manufacturing pursuits until 1941 and lived in retirement until his death at age 75.
