Cook, Company M, 359th Infantry, 90th Division. Son of Douglas and Emma Skidmore; born January 6, 1887 at Rushville, IL. Entered service April 29, 1918 at Galesburg; to Camp Dodge; wounded at Battle of Argonne Forest, September 17, 1918; was hit 19 times with shrapnel and while in Base Hospital 45, lay unconscious five weeks; was transfered to Base Hospital 114; landed in New York, March 13, 1919; died in Fort Sheridan Hospital, May 8, 1919; leaves two children, Lorraine Crystal and Lester Gale.

Was a cook before the war.
