A native of Clinton County, Mrs. Evans was a 1939 graduate of Tipton High School. She had resided near Muncie for the past 35 years. She was a member of the Warner Gear Sympathy Club auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Charles W.; a son, Walter Evans, Muncie; two daughters, Mrs. Carole E. Walters, and Marsha D. Coats, both of Muncie; her mother, Alma Carter, Tipton; five grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Carter, Summitville, and Ethel Carter, Hobbs; three sisters, Julia Evans, Mogadore, Ohio, Vivian Jeanette Delph, Muncie, and Ruth McKinney, Anderson; three stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday at 3 p.m. in Parson Mortuary with Pastor Gaylord Odeggard officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary 1-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.
