Frank Winkler, 90, died at his home in Oroville on Friday, March 7 after an illness of about two years.
Frank was born on October 18, 1856 at Suffield, Ohio. He first came to Yakima where he lived for several years contracting bridge building for the railroad. On January 27, 1906 he was married to Sarah Ella Carroll. Two sons and one daughter were born to them, Herbert Winkler now of Salem, Oregon, Stanley Winkler, deceased and Rachel Ramstead, deceased. Mr. and Mrs. Winkler moved to Oroville thirty-six years ago and started ranching on the east side of Lake Osoyoos where they lived until a few years ago when they moved to town. He is survived by his wife and one son.
