Charlene Campbell Cave Pippin, 91, Rogersville, passed away at 8:12 a.m., Monday, March 28, 2011, in her home.

She was born June 9, 1919 in Christian County, Missouri, the daughter of the late Charles and Lydia (McCarty) Campbell. She was united in marriage in October, 1938 to Roscoe Cave. He preceded her in death in 1981. On April 17, 1993 she was united in marriage to Dewey Dewayne Pippin. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Laymond, Carl, Roy "T', and Blonde Campbell and three sisters, Zella Loveland, Velma Campbell and an infant sister, Sarah.

Charlene had been a member of Harmony Baptist Church since 1939 where she had taught Sunday school and was the fiddle player in the Harmony String Band.

She is survived by a her husband, Dewey Dewayne; two daughters, Verba Thomas and husband Verle; and Ginny Wray and husband Jim, all of Rogersville; five granddaughters, Dottie Felton, Patty Smith, Donna Miller, Pam Glenn and Dana Hull; five grandsons, Doug, Dannie and David Thomas, and Craig and Steven Wray; twenty-six great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2011 in J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville. Burial will follow in Pembina Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in the funeral home.
