Earl Hart died peacefully on March 14, 2011, of lung cancer. He was born in Montana, September 12, 1920, to Jack and Evangeline Hart, the first of eight children.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth, with whom he shared, what would have been 70 years together, on May 3, 2011. He is also survived by his children, Karen Williams, Linda Rudolph and Jack Hart and by four sisters, Evelyn Novis, Irma Hart, Vicky Perry and Arlene Patrick. He had eight grandchildren, Brad, Brian, Michele, Lisa, Paige, John, Matt and Ethan and 18 great-grandchildren, including one who was killed in Iraq. He also leaves behind a large extended family and many friends.
Earl served in Pattons's 3rd Army, artillery, on the eastern front during World War II, returning home as PFC in 1946. He retired from PG&E in 1982, with 35 years service. He was an avid pool-player, wood-worker, rock-hound, jewelry maker and handyman. Earl loved with all his heart and his light still shines.
Graveside services will be held on April 13, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Colfax Cemetery.
