He was married Oct. 4, 1855 to Lura Kidder, who with three children; a son and two daughters, survive him. The remains were brought here by A.A. Luce and Mrs. G.K. Wilder, who went to Lake Village as soon as the telegram announcing his death was received.
The funeral services took place at the residence of Mrs. G.K. Wilder on Saturday afternoon. Rev. D.Q. Travis made very fitting remarks and M.T. Rose and Mrs. Julia Wilder each read a short poem. At his own request his remains were buried by the side of father and mother Luce. One by one the death angel gathers the old settlers home.
Mrs. Wilder extends thanks to her friends for the kindness shown them in their great affliction.
