Rev. Dr. Charles Noble Sims was the son of John and Irene Kitchell (Allen) Sims. He was the husband of Eliza A. (Foster) Sims. They were married August 12, 1858. Eliza died November 6, 1920. Rev. Sims was a minister in the North Indiana Conference/Baltimore Conferencee and Indiana Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He was President of Valparaiso Male and Female College, Valparaiso, Indiana 1860. He was Chancellor of Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York 1880-1893.
