Character Actor. Eddie Quillan, an American character actor, who started in show business at the age of 7 as he was a part of his parents vaudeville act. He appeared in the 1924 silent film, "Should Husbands Marry." In 1926, producer Mack Sennett signed him to a series of two-reel comedies beginning with "A Love Sundae" and "Kitty from Killarney." With the start of "talkie" movies, he had roles in "Mutiny on the Bounty" in 1935 co-starring Clark Gable, "Young Mr. Lincoln" in 1939, "The Grapes of Wrath " in 1940, "Jungle Queen" in 1945, and "The Strongest Man in the World" in 1975. His career took in over 200 two-reelers, features and television programs. Quillan worked with the biggest names in Hollywood . He was a long time member of the Way Out West Tent of the Sons of the Desert (a Laurel and Hardy Club), for which he was honored for his work in the film "Hollywood Party." He was son of actor Joseph Quillan and Sarah Owen and the brother of actor John Quillan and actress Marie Quillan.
