Mr. Charlie Lester 65, of Madisonville, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2011, at Regional Medical Center in Madisonville.
He was born May 19, 1945 in Christian Co., KY to the late Sammie Evan Lester and Frances Craddock Lester. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher E. Lester, two sisters and one brother.
Mr. Lester was a UPS driver for 32 years. He was a member of the Pleasant View Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge L.M. Cox #327 F&AM in Crofton. Charlie will be sadly missed by family and many friends. He loved camping, antiquing and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Polley Lester of Madisonville; two sons, Tim (Angie) Lester of Madisonville and Scotty (Karie) Lester of Madisonville; two step-sons, Spence Condra of Gulf Shores, AL and Luke Condra of Richmond, KY; three grandchildren, Whitney Lester; J.D. Lester and Zack Lester all of Madisonville and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Rev. Kerry Smith and Rev. Ricky Oakley officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday and 10:00 A.M. until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Tow, Roger Woodward, Ralph Smith, Dennis Dunville, Jeff Witherspoon and Billy Anderson.
