Devoted-faithful wife and mother, who along with her husband Rev. John Thomas Singleton were the patriarchs and matriarchs of a Christian family of eleven children. The Singleton family has been described as a pioneer missionary family in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church (C. M. E.).

Singleton, born in Georgia united in Holy Matrimony to John Singleton in the presence of two hundred witnesses in Milledgeville, Georgia on June 15, 1888. Between the years 1890 and 1911, eleven children, nine girls, and two boys were added to this union. Rev. and Mrs. Singleton provided an environment for their children which nurtured desirable thoughts, habits, and motives and they taught their children character by precept and example.

Singleton's husband soon received his calling to the ministry and pastored several C. M. E. churches throughout Georgia. It was at an early age of the children that the family moved and settled in Atlanta where her husband later served as an associate pastor of the historic Butler Street C. M. E. Church, and it was there that their children and many other descendants became and remained faithful members years after her death. Anna Singleton departed this life in Atlanta in Nov. of 1958.
