U.S. Congressman. Born on a farm in Lima, Ohio, he graduated from the Wooster University, in 1903, taught school and was superintendent of public schools at various Ohio cities, (1905-17). He was also employed as a campaign director and lectured throughout the United States for the American City Bureau of New York, (1917-19). In 1919, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-sixth Congress and to the next four succeeding Congresses, serving until 1929. An unsuccessful candidate for election, he was a business consultant and dairy farmer until his death at age 86 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
