Funeral services were held Saturday, March 27 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Annandale with Rev. Scott Jakel officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale. Friends called one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday at the church.
Ruth Olive Belz was born August 23, 1910 in Davis County, IA to Perley and Cora (Copeland) Greiner. She married Lawrence P. Belz November 11, 1928 in Iowa and he preceded her in death in November 1975. She was a homemaker and has lived in Annandale since 1966 where she was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. Ruth loved her family, gardening and the outdoors.
Ruth is survived by a son Carl (Glenda) Belz of St. Ansgar, IA; daughters Evelyn Olson of Buffalo and Sylvia (Malden) Olson of New Brighton; brother Jim Greiner of Mason City, IA; sisters Faye Severson of Austin and Louise (Earl) Kirchgatter of St. Ansgar, IA; 17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her son Glenn; five brothers and five sisters.
Pallbearers were grandsons Jeffrey, Eugene, David, Tim, Wayne, Richard and Dean Olson, Kevin, Kendall, Kelly and Shannon Belz.
Music for the funeral provided by Orma Lou Jacobsma and Bev Sorensen.
