US Congressman. Served in the United States Army during the War of 1812, ahving been appointed an Ensign in the 11th United States Infantry regiment on April 17, 1814. On October 1, 1814 he was commissioned a Lieutenant in recognition for his brave conduct during the Battle of Fort Erie. He was elected to represent Ohio's 18th District in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1841 to 1845.
