Eugene C. Crawford
Eugene C. Crawford, 89, retired carpenter, who was employed for many years at the old J. C. Colgate mansion and who also assisted in the construction of the old Second Congregational Church, died Sunday at Putnam Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He had resided at 314 Silver St.
Mr. Crawford was born in the west end of Bennington Oct 11, 1873, son of Henry and Abby Morgan Crawford. His schooling had been received in this town.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Crawford of Ballston Spa, N.Y., and George Crawford of Katonah, N.Y.; one daughter Mrs. Floyd (Irene) Walker of Harvey, Ill.; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, from Gibney, Haynes & Kane Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Duncanson, associate pastor of Second Congregational Church, officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Park Lawn Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9 and then at their convenience.
