Mrs. Martha Rockne Stiles, 84, of 319 Rue Rabelias, last sister of the late Knute Rockne, football coach at the University of Notre Dame, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday in the Ridgedale Nursing Home after a short illness. Born June 21, 1890 in Voss, Norway, she had lived here 18 months, coming from Dayton, Ohio.

On Oct. 31, 1914 in Chicago, she was married to Harry C. Stiles, who died in 1970. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Warren L. Mickelsen of South Bend; twin sons, Walter R. of Milford, Mich. and Harry C. of Dayton; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The body will be taken from the Welsheimer Funeral Home to the Suerth Funeral Home in Edison Park, Ill, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery, Edison Park. Mrs. Striles was a member of the Edison Park United Methodist Church, the Edison Park Women's Club and the Soalotte Club.
