Mrs. Geneva Mills Sanderson, age 81 of Brilliant, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Home at Guin.
Mrs. Sanderson was born on March 6, 1927 in Marion Co. a daughter of Morgan and Jimmie Gregg Mills; lifelong resident of the Brilliant area; 1946 graduate of Brilliant High School; retired from Drummond Coal Co.; member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary at Brilliant; and a member of Brilliant United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Hollin Sanderson; two sons, Danny and George Sanderson, Jr. and two brothers, Orby and Frank Mills.
Survivors include two daughters, Amelia (Greg) Hamric of Winfield and Becky (Jamey) Plunkett of Twin; two sons, Bobby (Doris) Sanderson of Winfield and Greg Sanderson of Brilliant; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren on the way; one brother, Charles (Judy) Mills of St. Louis, MO; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 24, 2008 at 2:00 PM from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Ronnie Elmore and Bryan Spiller were the officiating ministers. Active Pallbearers were Jason, Brian, and Stephen South, Wesley Jones, Timmy Weeks, Heath, Devin and Ryan Sanderson. Burial followed in Brilliant Memorial Gardens.
