Marion Booker Newsome, 78, of Callao, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009. He was a retired Brick mason and waterman. He was also a veteran of the US Navy during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Henrietta S. Newsome; one daughter, Angie N. Wilkins and husband, Brian, of Farnham; two sons, Ronnie L. Newsome and wife, Gail, and Jeffery D. Newsome and wife, Wendy, all of Lottsburg; three sisters, Betty Lou King and husband, Johnny, of Kinsale, Mary Margaret Krause and husband, Barry, of Lottsburg and Sue Fones and husband, Howard, of Lottsburg; one brother, Almon Newsome and wife, Betsy, of Lottsburg; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009 at Jones-Ash Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Melrose United Methodist Church, Lottsburg.
