Albert Streeter Caulkins was the son of Orman Caulkins 1826 and Lucy Holcomb.

His parents moved from Harmony, Bad Ax, Wisconsin to Richland, Chickasaw, Iowa by 1860. He married Ida Lillian Sherman, the daughter of Buel Sherman and Celia Lousia Page, in Republic, Chickasaw, Iowa on August 23, 1882.

The couple moved to Storm Lake, Buena Vista, Iowa by 1900 and later to Ceres, Stanislaus, California by 1920.

The couple had two children:

Earl Alden Caulkins 1885, married Helene Olson, lived in Storm Lake, Iowa and Ceres, Stanislaus, California, five children.

Una Caulkins 1890, married James Ray Beam, lived in Ceres, Stanislaus, California, four children. Later married Edgar Clayton Kelso.

Albert S. Caulkins, 86, of Ceres Passes Away

Albert Streeter Caulkins, 86, a resident of the Blaker and Kinzer Roads, west of Ceres [Stanislaus Co., California], for the past thirty one years, died in his home yesterday afternoon after an extended illness.

Caulkins, a native of Wisconsin, was the father of Earl A. Caulkins of Ceres and Mrs. Una Beam of Hayward and brother of Ellen Dodd of San Diego. His wife, Ida Lillian [Sherman] Caulkins died in 1939.

He leaves ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in the Shannon Chapel with Rev. F. C. Nelson, pastor of the Ceres Methodist Church, of which Caulkins was a member, officiating. Interment will be in the Ceres Cemetery.
