Herbert F. Burgesser, 66, of Smithsburg, died Tuesday in New York City.
He was born in Smithsburg, a son of John E. and Emma Burns Burgesser and was a member of Merchant Marines for 35 years.
He is survived by brothers,Charles, of Cavetown, Lloyd, of Baltimore, John B. of Dunedin, Fla.; sister, Mrs. Charlotte Abin of Rohrersville.
Services will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg. The Rev. William L. Drolkorn will officiate; burial in Smithsburg Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 7 to 9.
