Mrs. Alvina Matilda Agusta Schwalbe Hoffmann, the daughter of Ernst Michel Schwalbe and Barbara Kaestner, was born on the family farm in the Town of Plymouth. She was the oldest of six children.

She married Charles Friedrich Wilhelm Allmann in 1899 who subsequently died on October 1, 1900. They were the parents of a son, Charles Ernst Phillip Allmann.

On May 3, 1905 she married George Peter Hoffmann and they farmed in Town of Lima, Shebygan County. They were the parents of five children who were: Irma, Elmer, Herbert, Ruth and Edith.

She is interred at the Onion River Cemetery near Waldo, Wisconsin.
