Mr. Bergeaux was born in Acadia Parish in 1888 and had been a resident of the Evangeline area all his life. He was a farmer.
He was survived by his widow, the former Angelina LeJeune, three sons; Allie and Clifton Bergeaux of Evangeline and Howard Bergeaux in the Air Force stationed in France; five daughters, Mrs. Theophile Hebert and Mrs. Morris Miller of Evangeline, Mrs. Ulysses Fruge of Rayne, Mrs. Loyd Simar of Jennings, and Mrs. Jerry Wade of New Iberia; one brother Arvellien Bergeaux of Evangeline, one sister Mrs. Edmar Doucet of Jennings, sixteen grandchildren and one great grandchild .
