Funeral rites for Corporal Jester Bergeaux, 20, who died Sunday morning at 11:45 in Bahel Memorial Hospital from injuries received in an automobile crash Thursday evening were scheduled to be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 o'clock at the Catholic Church in Evangeline with Rev. Louis De Monsabert officiating.
Burial will be held in the Evangeline cemetery with the Houissiere Funeral Home of Jennings in charge.
Corporal Bergeaux crashed into a loaded lumber truck on the Jennings/Evangeline highway on Thursday night, when he was home on a two week furlough from maneuvers . He sustained injuries of the head from which he never regained consciousness.
He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Zuma Miller of Acadia, and his parents Mr. And Mrs. Julian Bergeaux, and six brothers and two sisters.
