Kenneth Smith, 77, of Waymansville died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, May 11, 2000, at his home.

He retired from Golden Casting and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Seymour Community Church.

Funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Inlow and Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Frank Holt officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Bartholomew County.

Born in Burkesville, Ky., March 20, 1923, Mr. Smith was the son of William Mac and Della Cross Smith. He married Agnes Stephens May 23, 1944. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Kenny Smith of Waymansville; brothers, Joe Smith of Columbus and Herman Smith of Mulberry; sisters, Maxine Hammond of Scipio and Ruby Cox of Mulberry; grandchildren, Wayne Lee of Jonesville, Steve Lee and Jennifer Jeffries, both of Columbus, and Shannon Smith of Waymansville; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Hupp; two brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral for Kenneth Smith, 77, of Indiana 58 was conducted Monday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Holt officiating. Jennifer Jeffries read a poem, and Randy Applegate and Dellatene Holt provided special music.

Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy Caudill, Clinton and Junior Jones, Herschel Hurd, David Harris and Herschel Loganston.

Mr. Smith died Thursday, May 11, 2000, at his home.
