Audrey had given her husband, Frank, similar injections just before he died of what was later determined to be arsenic poisoning. After serving time for killing her husband and attempting to kill her daughter, she was granted a prison weekend furlough. On the last day of the furlough, she told her second husband, John, that she was going to visit her mother's grave and would return soon to go back to prison. Instead, she disappeared and was found near death four days later after exposure to the winter weather. Audrey died after being rushed to the hospital and was buried in a plot next to her husband and just in front of her mother's.
