Musician. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he was a blues pianist and singer who recorded for Chess in the early 1950s. In the 1960s, he became a popular musician on the Los Angeles area blues scene. He recorded with a number of West Coast-based independent record companies, to include Flash, Combo, Catalina, General Artist and his own Pioneer label. He also toured with bandleader Johnny Otis and traveled with West Coast Rhythm and Blues Revue Show case. He died in in Los Angeles, California and is a member of the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
