Thomas, 82, passed away Tuesday. Tom was the son of the late Martin and Anna (Fedewa) Grost.

He was a graduate of Resurrection High School in 1946 and Michigan State University with a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1950. Tom joined the U.S. Air Force and flew over 100 missions as a fighter bomber pilot during the Korean Conflict. He worked with Clark Ackley, Warren Holmes Architectural Firms, the MSU power plant and the last 20 years at St. Lawrence Hospital as director of Plant Operations. He was an active member of St. Gerard Church and served on their catholic school board, but spent most of his time caring for his family.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Francis Martin; brother-in-law, Fred Baumgartner and sister-in-law, Loa Lea Grost.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Cora; 7 children, Richard (Karen) Grost, Mary (John) Halpin, Janet (Mark) Sudac, Diane (Doug) Coon, Christine (Dan) Popoff, Nancy (Mike) Linton and David Grost; 12 grandchildren, who loved grandpa dearly, Nick, Daniel, Jenny, Dana, Heather, Beth, Katie, Stephanie, Lance, Allison, Carter and Alexis; siblings, Dr. James (Inge) Grost, Jeanette Baumgartner, Maxwell Grost and Marie (Jack) Bower.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Pieter vanRooyen, Fr. Matt Fedewa and Mgsr. Sylvester Fedewa as con-Celebrants. A rosary was prayed.
