Artist. Portrait painter. Attributed painter of 334 portraits and miniatures. Subjects included Marquis de LaFayette, Henry Clay, Gen. George Rogers Clark, Kentucky Governor Isaac Shelby and Virginia Governor James McDowell. His father was Capt. John "Jack" Jouett Jr. who has been called the "Paul Revere of the South," as he delivered warnings that the British were coming, saving Thomas Jefferson and the entire Virginia legislature from capture in 1781.
