William Duckworth Dies at Deer Creek
Deer Creek, Aug. 23-William Duckworth, 78, a pioneer of Cherokee strip, died at his home near here at 1005 a.m. Sunday after an illness of three months.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m.from the Methodist Church. Rev. Ellis officiated and burialwill be at Mt. Olive Cemetery.

The Pishny Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements

Surviving are Mrs. Duckworth, three sons, Clarence, Houston, Eugene and Owen, Blackwell and stepson Otis Milford, Deer Creek and five daughters Eunice Burkhalter, Leola Curfman, Sarah Webb, Esther Bontz, Blackwell, Veda Steagall, Decatur GA.

William was the son of Eligha (Elijah) and Sarah Bullard Duckworth
