Ruth May Burroughs was born 23 May 1906 and baptised on 16 May 1907 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at The Church of the Savior-Episcopal

She was the daughter of John M and Ida Matilda Eisenbrown Buroughs. She had one sister Mary E Buroughs.

RUTH M. BUROUGHS, 83, a retired executive secretary and former resident of Philadelphia, died Sunday at her home in Churchville, Pa.
Miss Buroughs worked 40 years for the Arthur H. Thomas Co., a pharmaceutical supply house that was in Philadelphia until recently. She moved to Churchville 10 years ago.
Her survivors include nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at noon tomorrow at the Joseph A. Fluehr 3d Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road, Richboro. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.

Ruth M. Buroughs, 83, a former executive secretary, died Sept. 3 at home.
Miss Buroughs was born in Philadelphia and lived in Churchville for 10 years.
She was employed by the Arthur H. Thomas Supply Co., a pharmaceutical supply firm in Philadelphia, for 40 years. She retired in 1978.
She taught piano at the Clark Conservatory of Music in Philadelphia in the 1930s and was a member of the Philadelphia Matinee Music Club for 20 years.
Miss Buroughs is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her funeral was held Sept. 6 at Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home in Richboro. Burial was in Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill.
Memorial contributions may be sent to the North and Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Rd., Churchville, Pa. 18966.
