Son of William Jakel Clanton and Margaret Rebecca Denmark.

Columbus Brooks Clanton was married 3 or 4 times, three of whom he out lived while still married to them. One of the marriages yielded 2 daughters who, along with the mother, died in Texas in quarantine while Columbus was away on business. His final wife, Mary Ann Nall, passed away in the mid-70's in Miami, Florida in a home for senior citizens under the care of her eldest daughter, Mary Joan Clanton Hawkins.

To date I know the names of only five (5) of his children:
Lillian Clanton born July 18, 1905 in Savannah, Chatham, Georgia, died January 3, 1985 in South Miami, Dade, Florida; daughter of Columbus' first wfe, Victoria Eugenia "Genie" Sikes.

The children of his marriage to Mary Ann Nall (final wife) were:
Mary Joan (Clanton) Hawkins born September 9, 1918 in Jacksonville, Duval, Florida died April 29, 1994 in Bellflower, Los Angeles, California
Juanita Eugenia Clanton born in October 12, 1920 in Tallahassee, Leon, Florida died May 31, 1954 in Miami, Dade, Florida. Juanita was my grandmother by Grant Younglove.
Virginia Rose (Clanton) Boggs born July 7, 1923 in Miami, Dade, Florida and died November 19, 2009 in Bellflower, Los Angeles, California
Paula Louise Clanton born February 6, 1925 in Florida, died December 2, 1977 in Bellflower, Los Angeles, California
